The Mechanical Engineering Manager will be responsible for supporting global new product development and technology initiatives working with the Advanced Technology and Design Engineering Team in Arizona and Exton in collaboration with counterparts located in India. This role will provide Mechanical Engineering support to a multidisciplinary team of Mechanical, Biomedical, Hardware, and Firmware Engineers that conduct research and support imagination of new and innovative conceptual products by modeling, designing, specifying, integrating, electrical/mechanical components into system-level designs. The individual will bring knowledge of best practices in his/her area of expertise to assure organizational and Team objectives are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Implement Mechanical Engineering best practices for methodology.
· Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
· Develops and mentor members of the mechanical engineering group by providing necessary guidance, identifying necessary training, and providing professional development activities to build competence and depth.
· Works with R&D Project Leads to identify, assign, and supervise mechanical resources, plan required task, manage project priorities, and provide feedback.
- Negotiate with and influence others internally and externally during product ideation and development to accomplish objectives.
- Collaborate across business functions to align R&D activities with strategic business objectives, mission, and principles.
· Applies strong analytical skills to identify and understand customer/user needs, market requirements, technical requirements, human factors need, and translation to the finished design output.
· Applies engineering principles to guide the design team and provide solution of mechanical problems.
· Develops necessary mechanical models for sub-systems and system integration to guide product design.
· Generate intellectual property referenced to the mechanical design
· Provide technical experts to support the legal department to research and evaluate competitors’ technology.
· Supports integration of mechanical system level technical inputs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including ME, BE, FW, HW experts.
· Provides technical leadership to resources internally & externally in support of multidisciplinary projects.
· Generate required CAD Models, 2-D dimensioned drawings, tolerance analysis, feature function maps, and mechanical dFMEAs.
· Prepare detailed technical presentations, reports and design documentation as required.
· Support design feasibility, design verification, and design validation activities with the development necessary test fixtures, and test methods.
· Exercises judgement based on multiple sources of information in support of new product / product line extension projects and/or product optimization development projects.
· Conduct the necessary training to the team as methodology is established.
· Promote an environment that balances the necessary GMP compliance with the flexibility required for rapid new product development.
· Develop, execute and document project assignments in compliance with committed timelines and project goals, and per established governance policies and guidelines.
· Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
· Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
· Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.

Basic Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelors and or master’s degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 6-10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a product design/development role.
· This position requires a highly organized person who is articulate and personable, provides leadership to others on the team, acts as a resource for other team members, has in-depth knowledge and experience in medical device development, and demonstrates initiative and commitment to quality in all tasks.
· Proficient with Solid works, FEA Software, Microsoft Office suite software, and project management software such as Microsoft Projects.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of Mathcad, LabView, or other Modeling Tools and experience a plus.
· Knowledge of DOE and Statistical Analysis a plus.
· Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA and other Risk Management Tools a plus Proficient in statistical analysis techniques and Minitab.
· Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to juggle/prioritize multiple programs.
