· Take part in developing laser based material processing solutions and subsystems to be integrated into future additive manufacturing
systems employing advanced/proprietary nano-inks and Artificial Intelligence
· Perform design analysis, component specification, and hardware assembly, integration, and testing
· Conduct validation and proof-of-concept experiments
· Responsible for delivering the optical solutions for various products by working with various engineering disciplines
Position Requirements:
· M.Sc. in Physics, Applied Physics or Optical Engineering, and 3+ years of direct hands-on laser experience including design, building,
characterizing laser based systems
· Ability to design and execute experiments validating laser system performance and correlate the results with the expected performance
· Experience building custom optical assemblies
· direct hands-on experience with diode pumped solid state lasers operating in the UV/VIS/IR wavelengths
Preferred Skills
· Knowledge of the laser theory and industry best practices associated with diode pumped solid state laser systems including continuous wave lasers, Q-Switched lasers, electrical and thermal sub-systems
· Hands-on experience with light-matter interactions e.g. ablation, drilling, annealing, sintering, etc.
· Experience with various laser scanning and shaping technologies e.g. acousto-optics, galvanometer, polygon, holographic optical
elements, etc.
· Familiarity with ZEMAX or similar tools to model optical systems
· Applied MATLAB programming
