The team is responsible for analysis and planning of Next-Generation Sequencing data (microbial and viral genomes, metagenomes and metatranscriptomes) and for expanding company analytical capabilities by upgrading, validating and implementing in-house and open source bioinformatics tools to enable novel discoveries.
Minimum requirements (Please apply only if you match all of the following):• PhD in Bioinformatics or Biology or MSc with industry experience• Working experience in programming and/or scripting (R, python, or equivalent languages).• Expertise in developing and using novel NGS analysis workflows with a strong emphasis on data processing, analysis and interpretation Great bioinformatics understanding in developing algorithms and using software tools to analyses NGS data including assembly, mapping, annotation, characterization and comparison between datasets Able to standardize analyses and create analytical pipelines• Able to assess and integrate new technologies• Service oriented – able to provide accessible reports for various non-computational teams
Nice-to-have requirements (Please apply if you have at least one of the following):• Particular experience in analysis of bacterial and/or bacteriophage sequences• 2+ years of relevant industry experience or extensive academic experience• Experience with or knowledge of all aspects (including QC) of NGS library preparation.• Experience with protein and gene function analyses• Leadership experience
